Simple times call for simple words,
And those words often convey—In the simplest of ways—
How we feel deep down inside ourselves.
I’m not saying “I love you,”
No. Those words don’t even scrape the surface.
It would take a million years
And a million words
To make you understand
How I feel.
Adoration;
It doesn’t even come close.
Cherish; idolize; prize; treasure…
Those words mean nothing to
How I think about you.
In all of the languages
And all of the dictionaries
Of the world,
There are no words
To put my feelings into.
